We are a father and son documentary team. We take photos and make short films.
We believe documentary can be mischievous, intimate, seductive, cosmic, rustic, funny, sincere, in-your-face, from-the-heart,
and as varied and shape-shifting as the truth itself.
We love the art of capturing attention and opening minds. We’re collaborative, hands-on and strategic. We are more fun that we look in this photo.
As a freelance creative director and writer, Jerry has worked for Reebok, Jeep, Sprite, Banana Republic and other global brands. This is largely how he learned about consummately created bullshit.
Thankfully, he enjoys the loyalty of Steven Grasse and his iconoclastic agency, Quaker City Mercantile (QCM), who have retained him as a freelance creative director and writer for over 20 years. With QCM, Jerry helped to create Hendrick’s Gin and Sailor Jerry Rum and regularly functions as lead strategist and creative director for four brands that he has deep affection for — Guinness, Miller High Life, Pilsner Urquell and Hendrick’s Gin. All of whom have enduring truths that deserve telling.
Shay was raised in the creative world. While other dads and sons were throwing baseballs in the backyard, he and Jerry were filming music videos and making up their own brands. He is a director, photographer, editor and overall creative.
