Fight Bullshit Create Truth works with brands to create films, imagery, print and other content rooted in factual and metaphorical truths. We began with music videos, then moved into doing documentaries for record labels and our small businesses, then progressed to creating content in general.
Bullshit’s everywhere. Truth isn’t. Well-expressed truths are powerful tools.
Look around and you’ll see that perfection is a commodity. In the world of marketing, money turns people into machines for expressing things a certain way, making people look a certain way and so on — and even the truth starts to come across like bullshit.
Our guiding principles are rooted in the reality of the stories we’re telling. Rather than mimic the same glossy techniques you see everywhere else, we’re more likely to run-and-gun or create a makeshift lens filter or film an interview at 2am with tired but candid subjects.
OUR WORKING METHOD IS SIMPLE — WE FALL IN LOVE WITH OUR COLLABORATORS.
If we’re working together, chances are, we’re reached out to you because what you do resonates with us.
When you’re in love, it’s a lot easier to really SEE what makes someone or something special. The next step is to find ways to provoke others to see what you see.
WE’RE AN ANTI-MACHINE.
We keep things personal, collaborative and close-to-our hearts so the meaning doesn’t get lost.
WHO WE ARE.
Jerry Stifelman, Creative Director.
As a freelance creative director and writer, Jerry has worked for Reebok, Jeep, Sprite, Banana Republic and other global brands. This is largely how he learned about consummately created bullshit.
Thankfully, he enjoys the loyalty of Steven Grasse and his iconoclastic agency, Quaker City Mercantile (QCM), who have retained him as a freelance creative director and writer for over 20 years. With QCM, Jerry helped to create Hendrick’s Gin and Sailor Jerry Rum and regularly functions as lead strategist and creative director for four brands that he has deep affection for — Guinness, Miller High Life, Pilsner Urquell and Hendrick’s Gin. All of whom have enduring truths that deserve telling.
Shay Stifelman, CREATIVE DIRECTOR.
Shay was raised in the creative world. While other dads and sons were throwing baseballs in the backyard, he and Jerry were filming music videos and making up their own brands. Shay edited his first music video (for the Dex Romweber Duo) when he was 14 and has been picking up skills ever since. He is a photographer, filmmaker, editor and overall creative.
Tracey Oliveto, STORY EDITOR.
A longtime ashtanga yoga teacher who has always incorporated storytelling into her teaching, Tracey helps us develop and stay true to narrative arcs. She makes sure everything makes sense, is optimally meaningful and on the up and up.
